Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Often incorrectly described as Mexico’s independence day, Cinco De Mayo actually celebrates a military victory which happened in 1862. The Mexican army defeated France at the Battle of Puebla, a win which helped to unify the Mexican people against interfering European countries.
Today, the celebrations that take place on Cinco De Mayo celebrate Mexican culture, strength and resiliency; but you don’t have to be Mexican to celebrate!
