Wander Away: Adventure in a box

Are you sitting on a gorgeous beach somewhere, sipping a fancy fruity drink? Are you on a wild adventure off the beaten path in Nepal, eating an amazing dinner with the locals? No?

I bet you want to be though, and so do I!

Not that living in California isn’t awesome, it is, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t long to get away and travel again, like I did pre kids and a mortgage…

If you’re looking for a little taste of the exotic, a trinket to inspire your next vacation, or a reminder of your past international wanderings, we’ve got a suggestion for you.

Check out Wander Away, an inspiring bi-monthly ‘care package’ designed to bring you wanderlust in a box!

I’m not usually into these subscription boxes, but having a few special items sent to me every other month, which remind me of the adventures that await in the wider world is really nice. Too often I get swept up in being a mom, and ‘Life in the Bay’ and forget about the amazing world that’s out there.

Wander Away has just begun its journey, but if the first box is anything to go by, I’m hooked.

It’s provided something for all the senses, so that even at my desk, I can close my eyes, enjoy the scents of the Caribbean, the tastes of Asia; while dreaming about my next exotic getaway…

Enter the code ‘LIFEINTHEBAY’ to get 10% off (code valid until 2 April 2017)

About Michelle Laker

A California native; I spent 10 years living, studying, working, (and falling in love) in the United Kingdom. I returned to the Bay Area in 2011, with my British husband in tow. I am re-adjusting to life in the bay, feeling more like an expat than a local. I have spent my career working with international student & families. I love learning about other cultures, languages, and traditions. I am also a Board Member for Community Committee for International Students at Stanford (CCIS); dedicated to making a connection between Stanford Internationals and the surrounding community. My desire to welcome newcomers, and help you make the most of your new life in the Bay Area comes from the unforgettable memories (and mistakes) I made during my time in the United Kingdom. If you've just arrived, and don't know where to start, email me (michelle-at-lifeinthebay.org). I am happy to help!
